The London-based four-piece were named Annie Mac’s New Names for 2016 upon the release of ‘Breakfast’, while its follow-up ‘The Beat’ was praised by BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart for ‘a chorus so good it needs to go outside and have a word with itself.’ With two huge support tours, a headline slot at Worcester’s Uncover night and a set at Secret Garden Party already confirmed, 2017 is set to be a career-defining year for the band.įronted by the fiercely endearing Laura Hayden, Anteros’ sound has been compared to that of No Doubt and The Cardigans for its ‘spellbinding charm’ (DIY) and ‘sugar-sweet melodies with wry, smart lyrics’ (Nylon). Tickets for all upcoming dates are available here.Ģ016 saw Anteros build from strength to strength, blazing across the live circuit with their consistently exuberant showings and releasing two critically acclaimed singles, ‘Breakfast’ and ‘The Beat’. The rising indie pop stalwarts will play ten dates with Two Door, followed by eight dates supporting White Lies on their UK tour in March and six dates with Blaenavon in April, including London’s Heaven. They played just 4 songs of the new album, maintaining the attitude all the way.Īnd obviously, they closed with "What You Know".Anteros announce that they will support Two Door Cinema Club and Blaenavon on their respective UK tours. The biggest surprise for me was that they included "Eat That Up, It's Good For You" and all the classics were there. They actually focused on the oldies starting with "Cigarettes in the Theatre" and "Undercover Martyn". In terms of the setlist, it was very balanced. The stage was great with the rectangles of the cover of the new album lighting up with the rhythm. I have been waiting for them to play "Not in this town", but I'll keep waiting. They are always worth it since their music is so upbeat and energetic. I would suggest for anyone and everyone to go to one of their concerts. It was just spectacular and I was definitely sad when it ended. I loved the graphics they had set up behind them and the lighting cues. Alex spoke to the audience and they all thanked the audience for coming. I thought about 4 songs were gonna be the last one haha. It really pulls you in! The rest of the show was mind-blowing and they tricked us (me, at least) about their final song. Two Door Cinema Club came on stage with a really great, in a way interactive introduction that led into Talk. My only gripes are with the people who attended, not the TDCC. There were also some rude people there yelling at the band. There were people smoking weed and vaping during the show which I didn’t mind but others might. Even the opening band, Peach Pit, gave a really great show. The show was AMAZING! I have not a single negative comment about the music or the performance in general.
